Day 1 · Arrival

Your guide coordinates the meeting point and transfers around your confirmed travel arrangements. Leave the remainder of the day flexible for check-in, rest and any local walk you choose.
Day 2 · Palace & old Beijing
Tiananmen Square; Forbidden City; Jingshan Park; Shichahai hutongs; rickshaw option.
Walk through successive gates and courtyards, comparing ceremonial spaces with the more intimate residential areas. Your guide connects the palace layout, roof decoration and imperial symbolism with the lives of its former residents.
Climb the park’s stepped paths for a view across the palace roofs. This elevated perspective helps you understand the city’s north–south alignment; a lower-level park visit is possible if you prefer fewer steps.
Explore the old lanes at an unhurried pace, noticing courtyard entrances and neighborhood businesses. Courtyard visits, rickshaws and workshops need advance arrangements rather than being assumed available on arrival.
Day 3 · Wall & Ming heritage
Mutianyu Great Wall; Changling; Sacred Way.
Travel out of the city to the restored mountain ramparts. Choose a walking stretch suited to your group, with time for watchtowers and photographs. Cable-car arrangements and any optional toboggan descent are agreed separately.
Day 4 · Temples & gardens
Temple of Heaven; Lama Temple; Summer Palace.
Explore the ceremonial architecture and park setting. Notice the circular forms, blue roof tiles and relationship between the principal structures; the surrounding paths also offer glimpses of everyday recreation.
Spend time beside Kunming Lake and among the covered walkways and landscaped grounds. Your guide explains how architecture, water and hills form a royal retreat. Boat rides depend on season and operating conditions.
